McHenry County Board Meeting Tonight

Tuesday, May 17—
6:15 p.m. –Human Resources Committee of McHenry County Board
A Special Meeting of the committee is being held prior to the full McHenry County Board meeting in a conference room of the county Administration Building,
667 Ware Road, Woodstock
. The Committee is to establish guidelines for the Fiscal year 2011 Pay for performance and make adjustments to authorize an emergency appropriation to the General Fund for Year 2011. Also to be considered are salary rates for FY 2010-2011.

This could mean a 2% pay-for performance wage adjustment to all non-represented full and part –time employees of the County effective June 5, the beginning of the first payroll of the month. The effective date of June 5 does not include retroactive pay to December 1, 2010.

7:00 p.m.—McHenry County Board
Meets in the County Board Room of the County Administration Building. Several Boy Scouts will be recognized for achieving Eagle Scout status.

Seven zoning petitions are seeking approval. These include:
  • Miller/Reynolds in Nunda Township, requesting a reclassification of A1C to A1C
  • Luke and Jamie Amelse, Hartland Township, requesting a reclassification of A1 to A1C
  • Blue Lotus Buddhist Temple, Greenwood Township, requesting reclassification of A1 to A1C.
  • Krause Trust/Borhart, Riley Township, requesting reclassification of A1 to A2
  • William Vacala, Hartland Township requesting reclassification of A1 to A1CV.
  • Michael and Lea Amold, Algonquin Township, requesting reclassification of R1V to R1V
  • Jeff Hyde, Nunda Township, requesting reclassification of R1 to R1V.

Under new and unfinished business, consideration is to be given to a resolution authorizing the unfreezing of and a salary adjustment to a First Assistant, and the freezing of a position in the State’s Attorneys Department Roster.

Four appointments are being presented to the Board for approval including:
  • McHenry County Senior Services Grant Commission
  • McHenry County Emergency Telephone System Board
  • McHenry County Conservation Board
  • McHenry County Zoning Board of Appeals

A number of resolutions dealing with finance and audit matters are being presented for Board approval including:
  • Authorizing acceptance of an IDOT Memorial Day Mini Grant for the Sheriff’s office. This $4,453.68 grant is for alcohol and safety seat enforcement campaign from May 13 through May 30, 2011.
  • Authorizing approval of accepting a State of Illinois Emergency Management Assistance Public Assistance Grant Agreement for Fiscal Year 2011 to help recoup expenses used for the Severe Winter Storm and Snowstorm during January 31 through  February 3, 2011.
  • Consider reclassifying the Director of the workforce Investment Board from a part-time to full-time position.
  • Authorize entering into a two-year contract with Corporate Benefit Consultants, Inc. for the next two years to provide professional broker services regarding the self funded health insurance program. The cost is not to exceed $60,000 for the first year and $62,500 for the second year.
  • Authorize acceptance of $100,000 grant from the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services for the Dental Clinic.
  • Authorization to retain Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois as the provider of administration services for employee insurance for another year. Deductibles are expected to increase slightly as well as co-pays.
  • The full Board is to consider adoption of recommended amendments to the County Board Rules. These changes reflect changes regarding zoning petitions as was requested at a March 15 County Board meeting.
  • The waiver of stormwater permit fees for privacy fences located in the floodplain are also to be considered. It was determined that the costs associated with the review of such permits are covered by building fees.
