Learn how to create a Graphic Novel and earn college
credit at the same time with a new course offering that begins in Spring 2013
Semester. The class is part of the Graphic Arts Associate in Applied Science
degree program at McHenry County College.
For those who have always wanted to create their own comic book or manga story, this class could open up new opportunities to become published. MCC's new Graphic Novel class will teach students how to use simple shapes to tell a story, study published manga and comics to learn how other artists have used the graphic novel format, and create their own sequential art short story in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.
No drawing skills or computer background is necessary; this class will teach students step-by-step how to build characters out of simple shapes, and show how to create effective page layouts using storyboarding techniques.
