Government At Work Thursday

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 25 --
9:00 a.m. Local Emergency Planning Committee


Meeting in the Sheriff’s Large Training Room, Government Center Building, 2200 North Seminary Avenue, Woodstock.

Following correspondence, committee reports, an invite to all Hazard Filers is an item under Old Business.

New business includes EOP up for review, Incidents reported since last meeting and a time for public comments.

1:00 p.m.–McHenry County Coordinating Council—
Meeting in the same location as above.

Following the welcome and introductions, the Council is to be presented with several presentations from Jennifer Prell on Elderwerks, Melissa Picciola, Equip for Equality, and Aaron Kustermann, of Illinois State Police.

1:00 p.m. – McHenry County Board Planning and Development Committee Meeting with the McHenry County Zoning Board of Appeals--
Following the approval of seven sets of minutes the Committees are to consider the ZBA December Zoning Board of Appeals December voting meeting date, followed by hearing any comments from the public and review a draft of the McHenry County Unified Development Ordinance,

6:30 p.m. – McHenry County College Board of Trustees --
Meeting in the College Board Room, 8900 U.S. Highway 14, Crystal Lake.

In addition to the necessary matters to be handled by the Board, among those items that are extraordinary are:

James Falco, Executive Dean of Education, Career and Technical Education and Dr. Tony Miksa,  Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs will provide a presentation on a TAA Grant being awarded the College.

Tuition and Fees for the College are expected to increase for out-of-district Illinois residents without an approved charge back from the current $266.60 to $301.33.

Tuition and fees for out of district (audit courses) and out-of-state students are to increase from $326.32 to $371.20.

7:30 p.m. – Crystal Lake Park Board of Commissioners –
Meeting in the Park District Administration Office, One E. Crystal Lake Avenue, Crystal Lake.

The Commissioners are to consider acceptance of the 2012 Comprehensive Annul Audit Report, determine the tax levy for the coming year, as well as handle a number requests for use of park facilities and consider a new Veteran Acres Parking lot entrance restoration and emergency driveway paving project.
