Crystal Lake Woman Hopes To Try For World Speed Skating Championship

Hailey Leech, of Crystal Lake (third from left) is fundraising for an upcoming tryout in August at the Olympic Training Center, Colorado Springs. If she makes the team, she will travel to Italy in September for the World Championships. Hailey has been a member of the US Junior Women’s team the past three years including China in 2009, Colombia in 2010 and Korea 2012.

Hailey has joined forces with another skater from Illinois, Megan Gillis, of Springfield, in her fundraising efforts. She is looking for local support of her efforts for 2012 with the purchase of a ticket for a Lottery Calendar Fundraiser.

Here is how it works:
Purchase a ticket for $10. Each ticket purchased has its own individual 3-digit number. If your ticket’s number matches the Illinois State Lottery Evening Pick3 Drawing Number, you win the cash prize for that day. Every day in July, a cash prize will be awarded.

July 4 -- $200
July, 7, 14, 21, 28 -- $150
July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 -- $125
All other days in July -- $75
