The Illinois Small Business Development Center (ISBDC) at McHenry County College is offering opportunities and assistance to small businesses, including a variety of seminars throughout the month. Highlights for March are: Trademark, Copyright & Patent Protection, Facebook Business Pages and a new Social Media Roundtable.
The following seminars are accepting registration:
Wednesday, March 7
6 to 8 p.m. Monthly Marketing Roundtable group: A no-cost seminar to collaboratively discuss various approaches to marketing and apply the strategies to your business. No fee is required, but reservations are encouraged.
Thursday, March 8
7 to 9 p.m. How To Use Trademark, Copyright and Patent Protection will be presented by a local patent attorney who will cover the basics of intellectual property as well as what can and cannot be protected. Fee: $39.
Wednesday, March 14
6 to 8 p.m. Starting A Business In Illinois: Learn important information about starting a business. An ISBDC experienced instructor will discuss many of the basics pertaining to entrepreneurship, as well as distribute various handouts listing agencies and resources to help your business succeed. Fee: $25.
Tuesday, March 20
6-8 p.m. Facebook Business Pages - Advanced Business Marketing (New!): Build and strengthen relationships with customers at this new seminar by learning how to develop an online presence to attract a highly qualified niche market. Learn to avoid common pitfalls and create a community around your brand. Fee $30.
Wednesday, March 28
6 to 8 p.m. A Monthly Social Media Roundtable group (New!): A new offering that provides an opportunity to discuss the latest trends in social media marketing and share various approaches with your peers. A social media professional will help facilitate the discussion and be available for questions. No fee required, but reservations are requested.
All seminars are held at the Shah Center. The McHenry County College Shah Center is located at 4100 W. Shamrock Lane in McHenry, near Centegra Hospital.
