The Friends of McHenry County College Foundation received a $3,900 grant to support the Early Childhood Educators Conference on Nov. 12. The funding came from the McHenry County Community Foundation to pay for the guest speaker Ben Glenn, an international lecture on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
The Early Childhood Educators Conference is expected to attract 350 participants and will feature Glenn’s presentation; breakout sessions on a variety of topics and a closing workshop given by Glenn.
“Our board members felt this was a good avenue toward continuing their support of childcare awareness in the county, along with supporting the needs of educators and schools,” said Jo Williams, community program manager for the McHenry County Community Foundation. “Our Foundation, through Illinois’ Quality Rating System (QRS), has brought $197,282 to McHenry County for childcare centers that are partners in this program.
