SPAN (Students Peace Action Network) presents a showing of the PBS special, “Women War and Peace; I Came to Testify” on Wednesday April 11^th, 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. in the MCC Employee Dining room.

The second in the PBS series, “I Came to Testify” is the moving story of 16 women who stepped forward to take the witness stand in an international court of law that resulted in a triumphant verdict leading to new international laws about sexual violence in war.

On this same date, in the evening,  is SPAN's Take Back The Night March. Please help spread the word and support this event.

THIS MORNING 11:30-12:45 -- MCC Employee Dining Room

This event, sponsored by the Student Peace Action Network and the College Democrats will begin with an overview of the United Nations CEDAW, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.

Guest speakers Kathy Clark, Elaine Whalen, and Mary Ewert will discuss the History of Women’s Reproductive Rights in the United States, and then specifically McHenry County.

Discussion will follow the presentation. This event is free and open to the public.
