Temporary Closure On Rakow Road January 18

Weather permitting, the segment of Rakow Road between Pyott and Virginia will be closed for approximately 15 minutes on Wednesday, January 18th approximately sometime between 10am and 11am to allow for the placement of the bicycle path bridge for the McHenry County Conservation District Bike Trail.  The bridge will pass over Rakow Road just east of Pyott Road.

The bridge is fabricated in three sections. The south section will be placed on Tuesday, January 17th and will require one lane of traffic to be flagged while the segment is lifted from the truck and set in place. 

The center and north sections will be set the following day, January 18th, and will require the 15 minute closure while the center section is set across the existing roadway. 

Traffic will be flagged as necessary during the operation to allow the bridge to be set in place.

Rakow Road Work Update

Work for Tuesday, September 13th, will cause some impacts and delays to traffic.  Concrete pavement will be placed at the southeast corner of the Pyott intersection following by the southwest corner of the Virginia intersection.  At the same time, storm sewer crossings will be done on Pyott north of Rakow while additional concrete barrier wall is placed on Rakow just west of Pyott. 

 Expect traffic delays in this area as this work is done.  Flaggers will be used for each of these operations so please be alert!

Rakow Road Night Closures Continue

Construction work continues on Rakow Road as planned, although rain has hindered many night closures. They are scheduled to continue for the rest of the week and beyond as needed. Closure time is 8:00 p.m. each night.

Reprieve For Rakow Road Motorists

 Rakow Road will NOT be closed this evening, Thursday, July 21st
nor Friday evening, July 22nd.

Night closures and the corresponding detour route will go back into effect starting on Monday evening, July 25th.
