Government At Work -- Friday

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 16 –
8:15 a.m. – McHenry County Board Public Health and Human Services Committee—
Meeting in the County Board Conference Room, County Administration Building, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock.

The Committee will be considering a resolution to designate Groot Industries as the Exclusive Collector of Solid Waste, Recyclables and Yard Waste in certain areas of Unincorporated McHenry County (Wonder Lake and Pistakee Highlands)

A second resolution for consideration concerns a proposition to the voters in the spring elections to levy and tax for providing facilities for the Developmentally Disabled .This would be included on the  April 9, 2013 Consolidated Election Ballot.

The proposed Resolution for the County Board’s approval lists a not to exceed .1% tax rate for the proposed tax.

Other matters the Committee is expected to consider include a discussing on the NACo Rx Drug Card Program Communication Strategy and the 2012 McHenry County Labor Report.

Meeting in the County Board Conference Room, County Administration Building, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock.

 Scarpinato - McHenry Twp - R1-R1V
Variation to allow a shed to be located in the front yard, and to allow a side-yard setback of eight feet instead of the required ten-foot setback along the south property line, and to allow a front yard setback of eleven feet instead of the required thirty-foot setback along the west property line.

Komisaruk - Algonquin Twp - R1-R1V
Variation to allow a front yard setback of 18.47 feet instead of the required 30-foot setback; and to allow a two-foot, seven-inch (2'7") separation distance between the detached garage and the residence, instead of the required five-foot minimum separation distance.

Government At Work - Friday September 21

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 –
8:15 a.m. –McHenry County Board Public Health & Human Services Committee –
Meeting in the County Board Conference Room, County Administration Building, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock.

Four interviews are scheduled for individuals to be appointed to the McHenry County Housing Authority, Senior Services Grant Commission.

Elna Hamilton is to be interviewed for the Housing Authority, Stephen Polep for the Senior Services Grant Commission.

John White and Catherine Nash are seeking appointment to the senior Services Grant Commission, but are unable to attend the meeting.

The Committee is to consider five resolutions accepting grants including three from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for the Workforce program.

Two grants from the Illinois Department of Public Health will provide for one full-time and two part-time positions in the Health Department.
 

A resolution is also being presented regarding authorization of an increase in the Daily Room Rates at Valley Hi Nursing Home effective December 1, 2012.


The proposed increases include:
Intermediate Care – From $200 per day to $210 per day
Skilled 1 Care – From $210 per day to $220 per day
Skilled II Care – From $230 per day to $230 per day

Other financial related matters for Valley Hi include a Resolution to reclassify a full time food service assistant into two Part Time Food service Positions. This would make it possible to reduce the overtime in the dietary department and have more weekend and evening staffing in that department.

The Committee is also to consider a reclassification of a Full Time Food Service assistant into two part time food service positions at Valley Hi.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 3 –
8:15 a.m.—McHenry County Board Public Health and Human Services Committee –
Meeting in the County Board Conference Room, McHenry County Administration Building, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock.

Budget reviews for several County agencies are scheduled, including Senior Services Grant Commission, Regional Superintendent of Schools, Veterans Assistance Commission.

Resolutions to be considered by the Committee include:
  • Authorizing a contract with Delta Institute to provide technical assistance in the development of a five-year update to the McHenry County Solid Waste Plan;
  • Authorizing acceptance of a $75,027 Grant from the Illinois Department of Human Services to provide a Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program, creation of a fulltime Health Educator position and an emergency appropriation to the FY12 Health Department budget
  • Authorizing the acceptance of the AmeriCorps grant and an emergency appropriation to the FY12 McHenry County Mental Health Board Budget.

Government At Work


FRIDAY, APRIL 20 –
8:15 a.m. – McHenry County Board Public Health and Human Services Committee –
Meeting in the County Board Conference Room, County Administration Building, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock.

A presentation is slated regarding an agreement between Family Services and North Central.

A discussion is to be held on Communication between the County Board and the Health Department.

A number of resolutions are being presented for consideration including:
Authorizing Acceptance of a Modification to an Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Grant and authorizing an emergency appropriation to the McHenry County Workforce Network FY 2012 Budget

A second resolution for consideration is authorizing the reclassification of a full time certified nursing assistant into a full time activity assistant position for the Valley Hi Departmental Roster.

A resolution authorizing a budget line item transfer in the Dental Care clinic’s Fiscal Year 2012 Budget.

Another resolution is being presented authorizing acceptance of a $85,663 Grant from the Illinois Department of Public Health for a Vector surveillance and Control Program. This is also to unfreeze three temporary intern Positions.

A resolution authorizing an emergency appropriation in the McHenry County Mental Health Board Child Initiative Grant Fiscal Year 2012 Budget

The appointment of David McPhee to the Lake in the Hills Sanitary District is also being presented.

The Committee is to review the Workforce Network and Workforce Investment Board Funding.

10:00 a.m. – Senior Service Grant Commission –
Meeting in Conference Room B, of the McHenry County Administration building, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock.

Two items are to be considered: a review of Strategic Planning Sub-Committee’s Proposed Strategic Plan – 2012 and Review of Application and Request for Proposals for fiscal Year 2013 Programs.
