Public Information Meeting For River and Dowell Roads Intersection Improvement

The McHenry County Division of Transportation (MCDOT) has scheduled a public information meeting regarding the MCDOT’s upcoming improvement project at the intersection of River and Dowell Roads near Island Lake, Illinois.

Meeting Time:           7:00 p.m. Meeting, 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Open Forum Q&A

Meeting Location:     Island Lake Village Hall

                                       3720 Greenleaf Avenue

Island Lake, Illinois

MCDOT has performed preliminary engineering at the intersection and has evaluated alternatives, the results of which will be presented to the public.

This will be followed by an opportunity for a question and answer period where MCDOT and design staff will be available to answer any questions residents may have.  Residents will also be able to submit comments/concerns they have regarding the intersection.  Meeting materials will be made available on the MCDOT’s website after the meeting.

Kishwaukee Valley Road Bridge Open To All Traffic

    There is still good news taking place.

     The Kishwaukee Valley Road Bridge marked detour has been removed. The bridge was opened to traffic on Thursday. That is two days ahead of schedule and within the project budget.
    McHenry County Department of Transportation is sending a thank you to the motoring public for patience and understanding during the construction of this important improvement to McHenry County local highway system.
    A thank you goes out to all MCDOT personnel for their efforts on this project, and to the Bridge Contractor for a job well done!
