Breakfast Series Continues At Shah Center

 McHenry County College Shah Center continues its breakfast series, "Start@Shah," from 7:30-9 a.m. on Friday, May 18, featuring the topic, “Talent Assessment: How Assessing Your Employees Can Help Your Business.”

The Shah Center welcomes professionals who have expertise in Myers Briggs, Work-Keys and DDI Leadership and Workforce Assessments.

Assessments provide employers with a greater understanding of their employees.  They enable organizations to understand strengths and limitations, and identify opportunities to enhance performance and maximize employee contributions to the organization. 

Cost is $35.  Use course ID: NTL S91 004 when registering. This breakfast series is held at the Shah Center, 4100 W. Shamrock Lane in McHenry. Small Business Owners Round Table Kicks Off Thursday Evening

The Illinois Small Business Development Center at McHenry County College will begin offering no-cost roundtable discussions every month that feature social networking and how small business owners can utilize this newest outlet to promote their business. The monthly roundtable discussions will kick off at 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26 at the Shah Center, 4100 W. Shamrock Lane in McHenry. Future offerings will be held the fourth Wednesday of every month.

This monthly gathering of small business owners is an interactive opportunity to discuss strategies and marketing methods with peers and share what's working on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and blogs. April M. Williams, a social media coach, author and speaker, will facilitate the discussion and will be available to answer questions that may arise.

“Social media is here to stay,” said Kristi Patterson, coordinator of the Illinois Small Business Development Center. “This can be a tremendous way to brainstorm with other small business owners and broaden your network,” she said.

Creative Conversations At Next Shah Monthly Breakfast

McHenry County College Shah Center continues its monthly breakfast series, "Start@Shah," from 7:30 to 9 a.m Friday, May 20, with “Creative Conversations,” facilitated by Catherine Jones, executive director of the Shah Center Programs. Jones shares her passion for innovative leadership using tools from the Center of Creative Leadership. 

Experience how visual images can be used to create meaningful dialogue around complex challenges.  Learn how framiing questions can be used to encourage the development of new perspectives and share understanding.  Jones will facilitate this hands-on workshop in using imagery techniques in change management, strategy development, and team building.

Demonstration On Adobe Creative Suite January 21

McHenry County College Shah Center continues its monthly breakfast series, "Start@Shah," from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, featuring an overview of Adobe Creative Suite at Work.

Alicia Wallace, a software instructor with 11 years experience, including working for Eastman Kodak and currently for Fuji Film, will give a demonstration of the Adobe Creative Suite at home and at work.
The Creative Suite is designed to meet the needs of print, web and multimedia designers, and the applications within the suite work together. Designers can prepare files in one application to be opened or exported to another application. The demonstrations of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Dreamweaver will spur creativity.

MCC Shah Center Monthly Breakfast Series Continues

McHenry County College Shah Center continues its "Start@Shah" monthly breakfast series from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. Friday, December 10 with a talk by Mike Mickelwright, author of "Out of Another @#&% Crisis: Motivation Through Humiliation."

In 1982, Dr. Edward Deming published "Out of the Crisis" a road map for leading a successful organization. Join Mike as he creatively presents how Deming's principles continue to transform management and addresses the question, “Are Deming's principles still relevant today?”

The Start@Shah breakfast series focuses on issues relevant for today’s leaders and take place at 7:30 a.m. on the third Friday of each month. Use course ID: NTL S92 002 when registering. Cost is $35.

"Accountability That Works" - MCC Shah Center Breakfast Series

McHenry County College Shah Center continues its monthly breakfast series "Start@Shah" from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 20 and will feature the topic, “Accountability That Works.”

The keynote speaker Marcy Piekos of Maverick Minds, will discuss the importance of personal responsibility and accountability in the workplace, which is essential for a business to succeed. Accountability That Works is a CRM Learning training module that helps to reduce workplace negativity, improve employee morale, and encourage team members to take personal responsibility for their results.

Mark your calendar to join the Shah Center team at 7:30 a.m. on the third Friday each month for an hour of insightful and interactive training, great networking opportunities and breakfast. The September topic will feature Living and Working in a Networked, Always-On and Virtual World.

Networking for Enhanced Collaboration -- Shah Breakfast Series

A monthly breakfast series "Start@Shah" is held on the third Friday of each month. The time is 7:30 to 9:00 am and the location is the Shah Center, 4100 W. Shamrock Lane, McHenry.

The series focus is on issues relevant for today's leaders. The July 16 topic, “Networking for Enhanced Collaboration” will highlight how today’s jobs are more complex and demanding, which increases the need for information and expertise from diverse contacts across and outside the organization. This Developmental Dimensions International (DDI) overview demonstrates how building business networks and enhancing collaboration across the organization contributes to a company’s success.

All are welcome to join the Shah Center team for an hour of insightful and interactive training, great networking opportunities and a hearty breakfast. Cost for each event is $35.
