TUESDAY, JANUARY 17

7:00 P.M. –Crystal Lake School District 47 Board, meeting in West Elementary School, 100 Briarwood, Crystal Lake.

The Board will be presented with two reports: one on Reading Recovery and a second on bullying Character Education Committee.

Other reports relate to financial matters including Treasurer’s Report, Fund Reviews, Monthly Payrolls Monthly Bills, Transportation Joint Authority Bills, Approval of District Contracts and Approval of District Assets. All are handled on a consent agenda.

A Budget Calendar and Budget Designee Resolution is being presented for Board approval as well as a Transportation Joint Authority Bus Bid.

A number of policy matters are being presented to the Board on first reading .

The topic of staffing for the 2011-2012 will be presented by District Administrator, Donn Mendoza. Also being presented by Mendoza is a Middle School Intervention Time Possibility.

Monday, September 19--

5:15 p.m.—High School District 155 Buildings & Grounds Committee –

Meeting in the Center for Education, One South Virginia Street, Crystal Lake.

In addition to approval of minute of a prior meeting, the Committee is to consider Cary-Grove Auditorium Group. Any other matters that may come before the Board will also be considered.

7:00 p.m. School District 47 Board of Education, meeting in Canterbury Elementary School, 875 Canterbury, Crystal Lake --

Two groups are to be given recognition, including the 2010-11 Parent Group for Fund Raising and Staff Recognitions.

A report on the District Improvement Plan is to be presented by J. Bevevino and K. Hinz

The 2011-2012 District Budget is being presented for approval with adoption of the budget being requested. Also being requested for approval is a request to pay Custodian Salaries, Utilities, and Building Equipment from the Operations and Maintenance fund, along with allocation of General State Aid to the Education, Operations and Maintenance Fund.

The Board is expected to discuss the 2012-2013 School Calendar as well as the D-47 Foundation.

It is also time to consider bids for snow removal for the coming winter.

Monday Government Meetings

MONDAY, APRIL 18

5:00 p.m.—McHenry County Mental Health Board Finance Committee,

Meeting at the McHenry County Mental Health Board facility, 620 Dakota Street, Crystal Lake

New business matters for the committee include a request for contract modification from Family Service; Family CARE Budget Update; FY 2011 Funding Guidelines and Application; FY12 Draft Budget Assumption and FY12 Draft Organizational Chart Review.

Also to be considered are any matters recommended for action.

5:30 p.m.—Special Meeting of School District 47 Board

Meeting in Woods Creek Elementary School, 1100 West Alexandra Blvd, Crystal Lake.

Following the opening of the meeting, the Board will conduct an executive session regarding personnel.

6:00 pm.—McHenry County Mental Health Board,

Meeting at the McHenry County Mental Health Board facility, 620 Dakota Street, Crystal Lake.

Presentations to the Board include: Family Service –Access Program as presented by Chris Gleason. Also a presentation on McHenry County Special Courts is to be provided by Scott Block and Dan Wallis.

A number of routine reports are to be presented the Board as well as reports on Mental Health Awareness Month, results of Community Needs Assessment. Association of Community Mental Health Authorities of IL, Family Service Contract Modification, and an Annual Report Draft.

Reports will also be presented the Board by the Treasurer, and the Finance Committee.

The annual public hearing for the Board is scheduled for Monday, May 16, 7:00 p.m. at the McHenry County College Conference Center.

7:00 p.m.—Regular Meeting of School District 47 Board

Meeting in Woods Creek Elementary School, 1100 West Alexandra Blvd, Crystal Lake. In addition to a report on the school, a report on the Coordinated Approach to Child Health (CATCH) regarding healthy eating is to be presented.

A number of bids are to be presented the Board for approval for custodial supplies, flooring, lighting upgrades, mechanical equipment and general trades.

The Board is expected to have a discussion regarding Capital Purchase/Donation Guidelines.

The Agenda also calls for approval of an early release option.

Government At Work

5:30 p.m.—McHenry County College Board Finance Committee

is meeting in the Board Room of the College for a discussion on the Fiscal Year 2012 Budget. Other matters for discussion include: tuition and fees; possible publication of W2s and total Compensation.

McHenry County College Special Board Meeing

Immediately following the Finance Committee meeting. The Board will hear a presentation from Michael Eesley, CEO and Ms. Susan Milford, ice President, Strategic Marketing Planning for Centegra Helth System. The hospital group had requested a letter of support from the Board for the proposed facility.

6:00 p.m.—McHenry County Conservation District Board of Trustees

is meeting in executive session for collective bargaining, real estate, sale/lease real estate/ probable or imminent litigation and pending litigation, and review of closed session minutes.

The Board will reconvene at 7:00 p.m. to handle the regular business of the District.

A report is to be presented regarding Community Gardens Tax Force from the Citizens Advisory Committee.

A number of reports from trustees on conferences and meetings attended will be followed by a verbal report of a Finance Committee meeting held earlier.

A number of contracts are to be awarded including construction of the asphalt entrance drive, porous paving parking lot, asphalt ADA path, small shelter, unisex restroom native landscaping and site amenities at the Fel-Pro RRR Conservation Area. Carmichael Construction is the lowest responsible bidder for a cost not to exceed $577,206.

Other contract work being presented for board approval includes Construction Staking and Supervision of the Fel Pro RRR-(Detrana Fen) in Cary for a cost not to exceed $36,000 with Condon Consulting Engineers, Ringwood.

The Board is being asked to approve a contract for the installation of handrail on the boardwalk at the Kishwaukee Headwaters Conservation Area. The lowest qualified and responsible bidder is Rosemann & Sons, Union for a cost not to exceed $40,303.

The Board is also being asked to approve a Professional Service Agreement with Recreation Accessibility Consultants, LLC of Hoffman Estates, to work with District staff in conducting an American with Disabilities Audit for a cost not to exceed $26,720.

7:00 p.m.—Crystal Lake District 47 Board

Will meet in executive session at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Lundahl Middle School, 560 Nash Road, Crystal Lake to consider a student discipline matter. The Board will return to open session to take action on administrative recommendation for student discipline.

At 7:00 p.m. the Board will conduct the regular monthly Board meeting in the same location.

In addition to the necessary financial matters, various personnel matters, the Board is expected to approve a South School Principal along with a number of repair projects for roofing, windows, and doors.

The agenda also lists a discussion on early release option; first reading of a number of policy sections. The board is to provide approval for student disciplinary rules and curriculum recommendation.

Martin Luther King Birthday--Government Buildings And Schools Closed

The birthday of Martin Luther King is being celebrated today, although the birth date is January 15. All government offices and schools are closed.

District 47 Board meeting scheduled to meet this evening is moved to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and is being held in West Elementary School, 100 Briarwood Road.

The McHenry County Mental Health Board meeting is rescheduled to January 24 at 7:00 p.m. in the Mental Health Offices, 620 Dakota Street, Crystal Lake.  

District 47 Board Expected To Approve a Tentative Tax Levy This Evening

Crystal Lake School District 47 Board is expected to approve a tentative tax levy when it meets this evening at 7:00 p.m. in Indian Prairie School, 651 West Village Road, Crystal Lake. Also listed on the agenda for discussion are a number of policy sections and a TIF.
