The McHenry County Board of Health
announces that Michael Hill will be the new Public Health Administrator for the
McHenry County Department of Health (MCDH), effective October 6. He
replaces Patrick M. McNulty who retired on May 30, 2014 after serving 35 years
with the Department of Health.
Hill was previously employed as the
first Executive Director of the Paso del Norte Health Information Exchange (PdN
HIE), a nonprofit corporation founded by local healthcare leaders to develop a
platform for the electronic exchange of healthcare data among providers in El
Paso County, Texas and surrounding regions. Earlier positions include
that of Chief Executive Officer of the Texas Association of Local Health
Officials; Public Health Director for the City of El Paso, Texas; Director of
Disease Control and Prevention at San Joaquin County Public Health Services,
Stockton, California; and County Health Officer for Okeechobee County Health
Department in Okeechobee, Florida.
Hill has Master degrees in Public
Health and Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Biology; he is
working to complete his Doctorate in Health Administration.
According to its 2013 annual report, MCDH
employs a staff of 134 FTE at locations in Woodstock and Crystal Lake for its
four divisions (Administration, Animal Control, Environmental and
Nursing). It has an operating budget of about $7 million. For more
