Louis A. Bianchi, McHenry County
State’s Attorney, announces that Ismael Luna, formerly of McHenry, was
sentenced to 8 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the class 1
offense of Aggravated Driving under the Influence of Alcohol.
On February 25, 2012, the Defendant
was driving his Nissan Altima on Algonquin Road when he collided with another
vehicle. The defendant had bloodshot and glassy eyes, slurred speech and had an
open container of alcohol in his car. While speaking to the police, the
defendant urinated on himself and later submitted to a breathalyzer test which
revealed his blood alcohol content to be .230.
This was the 7th time the defendant
was convicted of the offense of driving under the influence of alcohol. This
case was investigated by the Algonquin Police Department and prosecuted by
assistant state’s attorney Louis David Johns
