Presentation At MCC On Montgomery Bus Boycott

National award-winning storyteller, historian and former Teacher of the Year Barry Bradford will lead two presentations about the 1955 Montgomery Bus Boycott from 9:30-11 a.m. and 7-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at the Luecht Conference Center at McHenry County College. The college is located at 8900 U.S. Highway 14 in Crystal Lake.

Learn about Rosa Parks’ brave decision to challenge the segregation of buses in Alabama on Dec. 1, 1955 and the controversy surrounding her bold actions.  Bradford will bring the unexpected, unforgettable and ultimately uplifting events of the Civil Rights Movement alive through historic film clips, fascinating anecdotes and theatrical storytelling.  Through his presentation, discover the truth about Rosa Parks and the year that made Martin Luther King, Jr. a household name.
