Crystal Lake Park District Summer Concert Goers!

Summer Concerts in the Park at Main Beach are a long standing Crystal Lake tradition. The Park District hosts one concert weekly, June-August and admission is free. The Park District strives to offer a variety of music genres, community groups and long time crowd favorites.

 Please help us bring back your favorite band for a special night of the Summer Concert Series. The band with the most votes will be brought back to perform on a Tuesday night during the summer 2016. The choice is yours! The winner will be announced in December. Voting closes on December 11.

Step back in time and experience the holiday season at the Colonel Palmer House located at 660 E. Terra Cotta Ave. The Federal and Greek Revival Style home built in 1858 will be decorated in holiday splendor creating a perfect setting for Classic Christmas Bedtime Stories.

Cozy up in the front parlor of the Colonel Palmer House as Mrs. Claus reads Classic Christmas Bedtime Stories to children ages 2-7. Kids should wear their PJ’s and bring their favorite blanket and stuffed animal. Juice, milk and cookies will be served in the back parlor along with a surprise by Jolly St. Nick! New Information Regarding Shooting Death of Fox Lake Police Officer

Authorities have called a press conference for Wednesday to announce "significant new information" regarding the shooting death of a Fox Lake police officer. Multiple law-enforcement sources with knowledge of the investigation have told the Tribune that authorities are expected to announce that he took his own life.

Tax Preparer Seminar Continues AT MCC

McHenry County College continues its Tax Preparer Seminar monthly series with a 2015 Illinois Income Tax Law Changes seminar from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 in Room A117. The college is located at 8900 U.S. Hwy. 14 in Crystal Lake.

Seminar presenter is Trevor Atkins, a representative from the State of Illinois. Area accountants and financial planners are welcome to attend this seminar to review changes and gather important information regarding preparing and filing tax returns for the 2015 calendar year.

Participants will receive a certificate for one hour of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit after attending this seminar. The credit will not appear on an individual’s Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS) transcript.
