Nine Year Sentance For Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault

Fifty-nine year old Andrew Spanier, formerly of Algonquin, has the opportunity to “visit” with the Illinois Department of Corrections for nine years. That is the sentence McHenry County Assistant State’s Attorney Patrick Kenneally was able to get for Spanier’s Class X felony offence of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault. Spanier must serve 85% of the sentence.

According to information released by State’s Attorney Louis A. Bianchi, evidence presented at the trial showed that Spanier raped a woman after she went to his house in search of employment as a child caretaker and house cleaner.

The case was investigated by Detective John Bucci of the Algonquin Police Department.
