Tickets start at $27. Sponsored by Georgio’s Chicago Pizzeria and Pub, Bank of America and Northwest Herald.

About Berkshire Ballet Theatre
The Berkshire Ballet Theatre is a pre-professional training program for motivated dancers 12-20 years old. Students learn through technique classes and performances in a creative and disciplined environment. Intermediate 1 and 2 students begin the classical syllabus which requires students to work carefully with much repetition in order to isolate the correct muscle groups required for turn-out, extension, and a strong jump.  When a student is ready pointe training begins. Character dance, Modern dance and floor barre are also introduced into training. Berkshire Ballet Theatre trainees, apprentices, and company dancers continue advanced classical ballet training including classical variations, pas de deux and repetoire.

Natural Life Sentance Plus 50 Years For Murdering Father

Louis A. Bianchi, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that Michael Romano, 56, of Las Vegas, was sentenced to natural life plus 50 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the offenses of First Degree Murder.

On October 1, 2015, a McHenry County jury found Mr. Romano guilty of murdering his father, Nicholas M. Romano (Nick Sr.), and his step-mother, Gloria Romano.  The evidence at trial proved that in 2006, Michael Romano, who at the time was over $100,000 in debt, shot Nick Sr. and Gloria in their own home to hasten acquisition of his inheritance.

The McHenry County Major Investigation Assistance Team (MIAT) and the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department investigated this case.

This case was prosecuted by Patrick Kenneally, Robert Zalud and John Gibbons of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Greening The Future Discussion Wednesday

On the first Wednesday of each month, environmentally-minded people gather upstairs at Duke's Alehouse & Kitchen to network and talk about “greening” the future." Everyone is welcome to attend the McHenry County Green Drinks on December 2nd, from 5 pm until 7 pm, 110 N Main Street in Crystal Lake.

The topics for the evening: “HOME BREWING as a Hobby” and “Choosing Sustainable Alcohol”.

Bill Cross from the Midnight Carboys (a local homebrew club) will talk about the fun of home brewing and will provide a few samples. Maybe you will want to join the club! Bill has won various medals in home brew competitions throughout the Midwest and is a "Recognized" Beer Judge. He recently collaborated with Crystal Lake Brewing to create the first sour beer in their collection with the proceeds going to non-profits.

Duke's Own staff will also talk about how they choose their sustainable alcoholic beverages to share with their patrons (it's a tough job but someone has to do it and there are so many to choose from!).

Come join them for an end of the year celebration and maybe you will learn something to share at your holiday gatherings.

Upcoming topics:
Jan. 6, 2016: Home composting for smaller households

Additional parking is available at the train station. To be added to the Green Drinks email list, send a note to: GreenDrinksMC@gmail.com or “like” the group on FaceBook www.FaceBook.com/GreenDrinksMcHenryCounty.

The Green Drinks network was founded in North London, England in 1989 and now is active in over 600 cities worldwide. Interested public is always welcome to attend the McHenry County Green Drinks monthly event. Each month there is a short presentation on a different eco-topic plus displays and demonstrations. Also, information about upcoming eco-events and green products and services is made available. Non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks are available plus a featured “green drink”.

Green Drinks McHenry County is sponsored by the Environmental Defenders of McHenry County and Duke’s Alehouse and Kitchen.
