Flood Advisory For Most Of Area

Flood advisory remains in effect for Southwestern McHenry County and Southern Boone, Northwestern Kane Counties. Also Southeastern Winnebago, Eastern Ogle, until 8:30 pm CDT.

At 554 pm CDT National  Weather SVC Doppler Radar continued to indicate an area of light to moderate rainfall across the advisory area.

Rainfall reports of between 1 1/2 to nearly 3 inches have been received from the advised area this afternoon. An additional quarter to a half inch of rainfall is possible across the
area tonight.

Runoff from this rainfall will cause minor flooding to occur. Some locations that will experience flooding include. Belvidere. DeKalb, Genoa. Marengo. Rockford. Shabbona. Sycamore. Cherry Valley Cortland. Kingston. Kirkland. Malta. Maple Park and Waterman.

Precautionary/preparedness actions.

Report flooding to the nearest law enforcement agency so that they may take appropriate action to close flooded roadways. They will relay your report to the national weather service  in Chicago.
