Celebrate The Life, Lore, Diversity of McHenry County Prairies

McHenry County Conservation District’s Prairie Fest, is taking place this coming Saturday (October 1) at Pleasant Valley Conservation Area, 13315 Pleasant Valley Rd., Woodstock.
Enjoy Bluegrass music, BBQ, and the Beauty of the prairie on guided hikes, kids’ activities, seed collecting and more. Pleasant Valley expands 2,019 acres and is a mosaic of natural areas. Within its borders exist an impressive prairie ecosystem as well as a high-quality oak savanna, grade ‘A’ stream, and never before plowed wetland.

This special combination of habitats creates one of the most biologically diverse, stunningly beautiful, and locally accessible sites in McHenry County.

Get outside and enjoy the fall colors. Drop in for a few minutes or a few hours! Bring a picnic lunch or take advantage of the food being offered for sale on site.
