Cary-Grove High School Odyssey Artwalk

Cary-Grove seniors will display their artwork during the Odyssey Artwalk taking place Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Cary-Grove High School Lobby, 2208 Three Oaks Road, Cary, The show is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

More than 40 senior artists will showcase their art.  Those senior students have been enrolled in AP Studio Art, AP Photography, Senior Studio and Senior Design this year.  Each of these students have had multiple classes in the art department throughout high school and have earned the privilege of being in this senior level art classStudents in autos, metals, drafting and woods classes will also be displaying their work.   Cary-Grove Alumni who use art, design, and photography in their careers and daily lives will also be highlighted at the show.

The class of 2005 chose the name Odyssey since it means “a long journey” or “a series of experiences that give knowledge.”  This year the graduating class of 2015 is celebrating their experiences they have had in the Art Department and how it’s shaped them as artists
.
 Artists will be available for attendees to meet, talk with and potentially buy artwork from.  Alumni have also been invited to attend from the past 10 years, their work will also be highlighted.  Art teachers Wendy Guss, Lindsey Mangano, and Zachary Wisser will be there to answer questions and talk about opportunities to get involved in art at Cary-Grove.

The event is free and open to the public.  The Artwalk begins in the lobby; information, maps and an artist scavenger hunt sheet will be available.  Prizes are available for the artist scavenger hunt.
