Government At Work

TUESDAY APRIL 1-
9:00 a.m. – McHenry County Board—
Meeting in the County Board Room, County Administration Building, 667Ware Road, Woodstock.
  • A proclamation is being presented for Board approval acknowledging the members of the McHenry County Adopt-A-Highway Program during National Volunteer Week 2014.
  • A special presentation is slated regarding CMAP Transportation Issues by Randy Blankenhorn, Executive Director CMAP and Leanne Redden, Executive Director of the RTA.
A number of finance matters are to be handled by the Board including
  • Resolution accepting an emergency Management Hazardous Materials Preparedness 2014 Grant
  • Resolution authorizing the reappointment of the Supervisor of Assessments
  • Resolution authorizing acceptance of a modification to Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Grant for McHenry County Workforce Network
  • Resolution authorizing the awarding of additional senior services grant funds
  • Resolution authorizing the acceptance of a certified local government grant from the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency and to enter into a contractual agreement with the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Public Service and Archeology and Architecture Program
  • Resolution authorizing monthly transactions for the Delinquent Tax Program
  • Resolution authorizing the purchase of one snow Plow for the McHenry County Department of Transportation
  • Resolution authorizing an emergency appropriation to re-appropriate into Fiscal Year 2013-2014 the rolled forward encumbered Budget Dollars from the previous fiscal year.
7:30 p.m.—Crystal Lake City Council
Meeting in the Council Chambers, 100 West Woodstock Street, Crystal Lake.
A number of matters are being handled on the consent agenda including:
  • A request from St. Thomas School to close Lake Street from an area just south of the First Congregational Church entrance to an area just south of the St. Thomas School parking lot on May 29 and 30 during the St. Thomas Field Days.
  • Crystal Lake Jaycees are requesting a temporary liquor license
  • The Lakeside Legacy Foundation is requesting approval for a Run and Roll for the Dole
  • A resolution is being presented for approval to place the annual budget on public display and set the public hearing date for April 15 regular City Council Meeting.
  • Crystal Lake Rowing Club is requesting a waiver of boat sticker requirements for rowing shells and regatta motorboats for the Greater Chicago Area Junior Rowing Championship Regatta on May 3.
  • A request is also being considered for the closure of Lake Shore Drive between the Main Beach boat ramp entrance and Dole Avenue on May 3.
  • Madsen, Sugden & Gottemoller, 1 North Virginia Street is requesting a sign variation to allow an office sign at 8 feet in height and 50 square feet.
  • Penny Pinchers, 8 Crystal Lake Plaza is seeking a Special Use Permit to allow a used merchandise store.
  • A bid award and resolution authorizing the execution of an agreement for the purchase and installation of two cooling systems for the IT server room with a 10 percent contingency for unforeseen expenses
  • Bid award and resolution authorizing execution of an agreement for the purchase of replacement manhole frames and lids.
