MCC Renovation Project Moves Forward

Plans are moving forward on one of a number of small renovation projects for McHenry County College. This is the renovation of Building B including the Culinary Arts laboratories, production kitchen, and commons area on the main campus.

A construction manager will have the responsibilities of the preconstruction phase through the consultation phase, preliminary cost estimates, subcontractors and suppliers, compliance with required laws and the construction phase.

Pepper Construction, Barrington, is the firm selected by College officials and the Board of Trustees at Monday’s Board meeting to fill this capacity for Building B renovation project. Approval was given for a $304,000 contract with Pepper Construction for construction management services.

In addition to other purchase contracts for necessary services to keep the College running, the Board also approved a tentative Fiscal Year 2012 Budget for public display. A budget hearing date of September 22 has been set.
