A Big Birthday Celebration

Grassroots organizing is at the foundation of what political parties do. On Wednesday, August 3rd -- the night before the President's birthday -- supporters got together for house meetings in all 50 states.

Supporters around the country gathered last Wednesday at numerous house meetings with their neighbors, in honor of the President's birthday.  They connected with the celebration he attended in Chicago- and heard a special message from President Obama to guests at the house parties

The purpose of these events was to plan local events, strategize about how to grow the campaign in local communities according to information provided by the party. One of the area house party locations was in the home of Round Lake resident Jeanne Marie Dauray. It was an opportunity to join in the birthday celebration and also to talk about how to spread the word about the President’s accomplishments to friends and neighbors.

In the upcoming months the groups will plan local events, strategize about how to grow the campaign in the local communities, and talk about how to spread the word about the President's accomplishments to friends and neighbors.

This kind of gathering is an opportunity to have fun with your neighbors, discuss future efforts, and gear up for 2012, which is a big election year.
