McHenry County Environmental Group Celebrates 41 Years Of Environmental Advocacy

The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County celebrate 41 years of working to protect the environment in McHenry County at their Annual Meeting on Saturday, March 12th, 2011. The event will be held in the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall located at  404 North Green Street in McHenry.  The evening will include a social time beginning at 5:30 p.m. followed by a potluck dinner for Defenders’ members and their guests.  

Members of the public are invited to attend the free program following the potluck at 7:30 p.m.  Marc Miller, Director of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, will give a presentation on The State of Illinois’ State Parks.

The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County is a citizen-based, 501c3 not-for-profit organization, dedicated to the preservation and improvement of the environment. The group provides community residents with educational programs and volunteer action on pollution prevention, sustainable land use and energy and natural resource conservation.
