Busy Government Groups On Thursday

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 –
8:30 AM – The Planning and Development Committee of the County Board is meeting in the Administrative Building of the County Government Center, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock
A request for another extension of the tentative plat for Twin Creeks is being presented. Due to the current economic situation there is a lack of demand for the housing product proposed. Other agencies involved in this have approved the requested extension.
A request has been received from the McHenry County Islamic Center for waiver of fees for their building, planned for location at 5008 E. Crystal Lake Avenue, Crystal Lake, based on their 501C3 tax exempt status.

2:00 PM – McHenry County College Plan Committee meets in the Board Room to review the current plan.

7:30 PM—Crystal Lake Park District Board is meeting in the District Offices, One East Crystal Lake Avenue, Crystal Lake.
The Board will hear a presentation by Lauterbach and Amen of the annual audit for the District.

The Board will also consider the bid of Crystal Lake Bank and Trust Company, N.A., Crystal Lake for an issuance of a bond at a rate of .95%. The Board is expected to approve an ordinance for the issuance of this General Obligation Limited Tax Bond Series 2010.
Also the Board is expected to approve an Ordinance for the issuance of $1.5 million for Park District improvements.
One of the improvement projects is a new restroom building at Veteran Acres. A bid is expected to be considered by the board for this project. Twelve bids were received for this project. One was for the entire project, nine for general contracting and two for alternative energy components being considered for use in the building. The three lowest bidders have been asked to submit a bid for a larger heating unit. Final bids are expected to be considered by the Board Thursday.
In the same area, a new septic system to service the facility is also being considered. City sewer lines are not available in this area.

6:00 PM- McHenry County Conservation District Trustees will meet in executive session at 6:00 pm pursuant to Exception 2C5 (Real Estate), 2C6 (Sale/Lease Real Estate), 2C11 (Probable or Imminent Litigation and Pending Litigation), and 2C21 (Review of Closed Session Minutes) of the Open Meetings Act (5 ILCS 120/1 et. seq.).

The Trustees will meet in open session immediately following the Executive Session. A presentation is planned as a showcase of LITH Fen Conservation Area Development and Nippersink Canoe Base Redevelopment.
A number of reports from Trustees regarding meeting attended regarding other related agencies are also anticipated.
The agenda also calls for the consideration of a number of bids for the completion of seeding projects on approximately 211 acres of various habitats for a total of $198,143.09. Also a bid is being award for a concrete block replacement restrooms for both The Hollows and Rush Creek Conservation areas with the lowest bidder being CR Embassy Construction, Hampshire, Il for a price not to exceed $133,343.
Also a landscape services contract is to be considered for the Kishwaukee Headwaters Conservation Area with Crescent Valley Landscape, Inc. Woodstock, as the lowest qualified and responsible bidder at a cost not to exceed $37,648 base bid.
A contract is also to be awarded to Paulsen Paving, Inc. of Woodstock, for the construction of an asphalt trail connection of the Stone Mill Trail for a cost not to exceed $49,761.25.
A resolution is expected to be approved regarding an intergovernmental Agreement with the Village of Richmond as well as a resolution adopted granting a permanent easement to the County of McHenry
Farm Lease agreements are also being presented for consideration, a source of some income.
