Something that might be considered the
highlight of the Board meeting is a planned presentation by Ted Hazelgrove,
Instructor of English on the Harmony and History in Homer’s Iliad: Discerning
Legend from History in the Trojan War. Hazelgrove is an Instructor of English
at MCC.
A report regarding tuition increase
has been postponed.
Other matters for the Board to
consider are the routine payment of necessary bills,
What might be considered a major
expense of operating the college is the replacement of two HVAC chillers for a
cost of $23,500. The chillers being replaced were installed with the original
building B addition in 1989 and have met their life expectancy.
The new chillers will utilize an energy efficient
system that could be retrofitted to a ground source (geothermal) system in the
future.
