The public is invited to learn about green
infrastructure concepts at an Open House taking place tomorrow --Thursday, May 31--
between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the McHenry County Department of Planning
and Development. The location is in the McHenry County Administration Building,
667 Ware Road, Woodstock.
Attendees may arrive at any time and learn about the
green infrastructure concepts and how they promote the county’s goals of natural
resource protection and intergovernmental cooperation.
Don’t know what “Green Infrastructure” is? It is a
term that represents the latest strategies and technologies that support the natural
environment, wildlife diversity, and clean water.
The County’s 2030 Comprehensive Plan embraces a
collection of ideas and practices known as “green infrastructure” and through
maps and policy recommendations, presents a vision for county wide
implementation.
