Day Trip To Delve Into Delights Of Chocolate

Celebrate an early Valentine’s Day by delving into the delights of man’s most delicious discovery—chocolate.

Bring a friend or your sweetheart on McHenry County College’s Chunk of Chocolate tour in Chicago from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8.

This mouthwatering tour will feature the history of cocoa and its connections with the ancient Aztec and Inca civilizations. Participants will also hear about the varieties of chocolate and the many ways in which it is used and the forms it takes.

Highlights include lunch at Pompei Little Italy, followed by a melt-in-your-mouth hot fudge sundae for dessert at a neighborhood ice cream and candy store. Stock up at a chocolate-candy supplier outlet store and a get a delicious chocolate covered treat at Godiva, which has luscious gourmet chocolates. Don’t miss this “choco-riffic” day.
