Small Business Seminars at Shah Center This Week

The Illinois Small Business Development Center (ISBDC) at McHenry County College is offering opportunities and assistance to small businesses, including classes and seminars to help businesses shine. Topics of seminars taking place this week include:

Tuesday, Nov. 15
7 to 10 p.m.
How To Develop A Business Plan will help you create a road map for the future success of your company. Whether you plan to take your business out for capital or are simply looking to drive a greater margin, your business plan is essential. Cost is $45.

Wednesday, Nov. 16
6 to 8 p.m.
To grow your business, you may need to hire people. Attend the Hiring Your First Employee class and learn a step-by-step process of hiring employees; how much to pay, how to recruit, and how to choose the best person. Learn about salaries and benefits, personnel policies, and how to be an effective boss. Participants will receive a “Hire Your First Employee” textbook. Cost is $45.

Thursday, Nov. 17
6:30 to 9 p.m.
Accounting and Recordkeeping for Your Small Business will cover the basics on the type of entity to establish, mandatory reports and records, insurance, accounting software packages and many other important details. Cost is $45.

All classes are held at the McHenry County College Shah Center, located at 4100 W. Shamrock Lane in McHenry, near Centegra Hospital.
