Professional Driving Techniques Available At MCC

People who drive trucks, vans, taxis, limos, corporate or service vehicles for a living are invited to learn professional techniques and safety at a one-day National Safety Council (NSC) DDC-Professional Driver class from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 19 or Oct. 3 at McHenry County College, located at 8900 U.S. Hwy. 14 in Crystal Lake. Room number to be announced.

This program is a classroom study of driver safety for the seasoned driver and is not an actual driving course. The NSC program is well-known for its excellent material and well-rounded advice for professional drivers.

Safe drivers can help companies save money, keep costs down and keep downtime at a minimum. Drivers taking the course have said the course makes them better aware of the laws, as well as how fatigue, stress, and emotions affect route, service and everyday driving.  The instructor, Bob Gagnon, has been recognized by the National Safety Council as Instructor of the Year

Cost is $150. A certificate of completion is included. Participants should bring a lunch and refreshments are available for purchase.

For more information or for a company-sponsored form, contact Ruth Kormanak at (815) 479-7879 or rkormanak@mchenry.edu. To register, call the MCC Registration Office at (815) 455-8588 and reference course ID: QDD S01-001 for the Sept. 19 class or course ID: QDD S01-002 for the Oct. 3 class.
