Progressive Democrats for America come to Lake and McHenry Counties
Progressive Democrats for America is a national organization that backs causes such as ending corporate personhood, providing single payer healthcare, ending America's wars, protecting Social Security, shoring up Medicare and Medicaid, having fair and transparent elections, and protecting the middle class through economic and social justice. During the summer, Jeanne Marie Dauray of Round Lake was contacted by PDA and asked if she would be interested in starting a local chapter. Her response was "yes" and within two months time the Northeast Illinois PDA chapter was begun.
On August 25, 2011 at 7 pm in Round Lake at a private residence the group will be having it's first official meeting. Their ranks are growing quickly too, with nearly 40 members now involved.
