We thought we were going to see a program at a Crystal Lake church, a place where such presentations are given from time to time and we attended with family members. As it turned out the program was a surprise birthday celebration for my fifth 16th birthday.
Words cannot adequately provide the surprise and gratitude we experienced by seeing these friends who took their time and made efforts to be present on a weekend to celebrate this occasion.
We have experienced many surprises in this lifetime, possible when you spend the greater part of nearly 50 years in the journalistic world and raise three active sons. However, this seemed to top those experiences.
Needless to say, we are humbled and extremely grateful for the outpouring of these friends. Thank you, thank you all for the wishes and rememberances.
