Follow-Up Herbicide Treatment of Main
and West Beach Swimming Areas of Crystal Lake are scheduled for Wednesday, July
23 when Hey and Associates, Inc. will be conducting follow up spot treatments of
offshore areas of Crystal Lake within West Bay as well as offshore areas just
east of the point and along the no-wake buoys
on the north side of the lake, mid-lake area.
The treatment areas will include
deeper waters, typically greater than 150’ offshore. These areas are to be
treated with Navigate™, a granular form of a selective aquatic herbicide to
control specific, unwanted submersed vegetation.
Water use restrictions are as follows:
- Do not use water from treated areas for irrigation, sprays or for potable (drinking) water for a period of 21 days
- Do not swim in treated water for a minimum of 24 hours after the application date (see above)
- There are no restrictions on using water from treated areas for fishing after this application.
