Driving Under Alcoholic Influence

Louis A. Bianchi, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that Dale Anderson, 51, of Antioch, was found guilty, after only ten minutes of jury deliberation, of the offense of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol.

This case was investigated by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department. The defendant was pulled over for running a stop sign at the intersection of Ringwood and Johnsburg roads. The defendant smelled strongly of alcohol and had two children, ages 8 and 10, in the car. He failed field sobriety tests and admitted to drinking 4 or 5 beers.

This is his fifth conviction for driving under the influence of alcohol. The defendant is scheduled for a sentencing hearing on November 17, 2013. This offense is a class one felony punishable between four and fifteen years in the penitentiary. The defendant is not eligible for probation. The case was prosecuted by David Johnston and Robert Zalud.
