Government At Work

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 13—
8:30 a.m. – McHenry County Board Agricultural & Conservation Easement Committee –
Meeting in the County Board Conference Room, County Administration Building, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock.

One of two items on the agenda provides for a motion approving an application to the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, (CMAP) for a Joint Technical Assistance Grant to Conduct a Farm Food Economy Study of the Chicago Region.

The second item is regarding the Agricultural & Conservation Easement Plan

8:30 a.m. – Natural and Environmental Resources Committee –
Meeting in the County Board Conference Room, County Administration building, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock.

A presentation is slated regarding Green Infrastructure, with several new business items to follow. These include a motion approving an application to the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) for a Joint Technical Assistance Grant to conduct a farm food economy study of the Chicago Region.

A second motion is approving an application, also to CMAP for a Technical Assistance Grant to update the Stormwater Management Ordinance.

The third motion is approving an application to CMAP for a Technical Assistance Grant to prepare a Drought Preparedness Plan for Regional Areas Without Public Water Supply Utilities.

10:30 a.m. – Merit Commission –
Meeting in the County Board Conference Room, County Administration building, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock.

The agenda lists the payment of bills, public participation, and under new business, the meeting schedule.

Old business is listed as an extension of 2011 Patrol Eligibility List and Entry Level Deputy Patrol Testing Vendor.

1:30 pm. – McHenry County Zoning Board of Appeals –
Meeting in Conference Room B, the Zoning Board is to hear a petition for variation by petitioners Roger H and Jane Otto, owners of 1.14 acres of property located in unincorporated Crystal Lake at 551 Juanita  Vista, Dorr Township.

They are seeking four variations of the County Zoning Bulk regulations in order to remove an existing garage and construct a larger garage which is further setback from Juanita Vista.

The property, approximately 1.14 acre parcel is currently classified as R-1 Single Family Residential District. It contains a single family residence on two parcels which the owners desire to consolidate under one tax identification number. All surrounding property is classified as R-1 single family residential district which is what the petitioners seek for their property.

4:00 p.m. –Personnel Committee of the Crystal Lake Public Library Board of Trustees –
Meeting in the Library Director’s Offices at the Crystal Lake Public Library, 126 Paddock Street, Crystal Lake.

7:00 p.m. – Automation Committee of the Crystal Lake Public Library Board of Trustees –
Meeting in the Library Director’s Offices of the Crystal Lake Public Library.
