Government At Work

Monday, October 24--
8:00 a.m. –Crystal Lake Public Library Board of Trustees Planning Workshop –
Meeting in the Thomas Ames Meeting Room at the Library, 126 Paddock Street, Crystal Lake.

8:30 a.m. – Management Services Committee of McHenry County Board –
Meeting in the Administration Building of the McHenry County Government Center, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock.

The Committee is to consider approval of the request by Illinois Department of Transportation to purchase 0.181 acre or 7,884 square feet and a Temporary Easement of 0.004 acre or 179 square feet of property for a proposed improvement of US 14. This is the Crystal Lake facility of the McHenry County Health Department and the location of the County Animal Control facility. The State has offered the County $53,400 for the property.

7:00 p.m.—McHenry County Board of Health—
Meeting in the Department of Health, 2200 N. Seminary Avenue, Woodstock.
The Health Department has received a number of grants which the Board of Health will consider. Included are:
  • $89,658 from the IDPH for Tobacco Free Community
  • $3,248 IDPH Lead Poisoning Case Management Services Grant
  • $60,238 IDPH CRI Grant Agreement
  • $10,800 IDPH Vision and Hearing Screening Grant Agreement
  • $178.670 IDPH Public Health Preparedness Grant
  • $504,170 IDHS Family Case Management Grant
  • $26,520 IDHS Coordinated School Health Education Grant
  • $40,000 IDHS Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Grant
  • $60,000 IDHS Healthy child Care Illinois (HCCI)
  • $576,700 IDHS WIC Grant
  • Contractual Agreement with Dr. George Stankevych - $150/month
  • A contractual agreement for Elizabeth Hackett is also to be considered.
The program highlight for this board meeting is the breast and cervical cancer program.
In a related topic, the Board is to consider the FY11 budget Amendment of $40,000 for the Breast and Cervical Cancer Program.

Preparing for next year the Board is to consider the 2012 Board meeting schedule.
Other considerations include a joint meeting with the Mental Health Board on November 28.
