View Extraordinary Gold Treasures At Field Museum

Feast your eyes on a vast array of extraordinary treasures at the Field Museum with a “Golden Chicago” trip sponsored by McHenry County College from 7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17.

The Field Museum exhibit, “Gold: Natural Treasure, Cultural Obsession,” features enormous nuggets, gold bullion coins from shipwrecks, gold bars, exquisite jewelry and contemporary objects such as Oscar statues.  Also included are cultural objects from around the world and artifacts from ancient civilizations which illustrate the many ways in which gold has captivated the imagination of generation past and present.

Visitors will experience an exclusive program at the Field Museum prior to entering the exhibit, including an informative presentation at the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank that will focus on the gold supply, where gold is stored in the United States and answers your questions about how gold fits into the monetary system

Cost is $99 and includes lunch at Buca di Beppo in the Gold Coast, plus a special golden dessert. No refunds available.
