Free Seminars to assist Seniors in avoiding fraud.
Area Seniors interested in how to protect themselves from fraud are offered several opportunities to learn more about "The Silver Beat" training programs. These were created to help combat the growing threat of financial fraud being felt by older adults across the country, explains State Senator Pam Althoff, R-32nd District.

Senator Althoff along with State Representative Michael Tryon, R-64th District and Deputy Republican Leader Tim Schmitz are teaming up with Attorney General Lisa Madigan's Office to offer "The Silver Beat" fraud prevention seminars.
The seminars are aimed at giving seniors the information they need to avoid scams where seniors are the target of con artists and deceptive practices because criminals perceive them to be more vulnerable and affluent, with access to a wide variety of retirement accounts and pensions.

Another seminar is scheduled for Wednesday, September 29 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m. at PNC Bank (formerly National City Bank, 1350 South Illinois Route 47, Huntley.
