OSHA Course In General Industry Offered By MCC

The Shah Center of McHenry County College is accepting registrations for the OSHA 30-hour course in General Industry that will meet from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 7, 9, 14 and 16 at the Shah Center, 4100 W. Shamrock Lane in McHenry.
The course is facilitated by OSHA-certified Accident Prevention Corporation and will provide detailed coverage of OSHA’s general industry standards, requirements and employer’s responsibility to provide employees a safe and healthful workplace. This course is suited to safety and health personnel, supervisors and those with safety and health responsibilities. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a course certificate and an OSHA general industry 30-hour course completion card from the Department of Labor.
According to osha.gov, every year, nearly five million workers experience an occupational injury or illness on the job. More than half of these injuries and illnesses are severe enough to cause the worker to spend time away from work. OSHA, along with safety and health professionals around the nation, is working with employers and employees to move toward zero injuries and illnesses in U.S. workplaces.
Cost is $379, which includes materials. Participants can register using course ID: NTE S68 001. The OSHA 30-hour course meets grant assistance qualifications for eligible companies.
